Wanting to change the way things are means we will have to try new approaches. Reforms are one way. Key though is to remember that when we chart a new course, such as beginning a new day, life is an experiment. Health Care Reform still has a long way to go, however, more importantly we have accomplished something magnificent… we have made a choice, some begrudgingly, and that choice is a step in the right direction. The desire to make health care more accessible–that is the direction. There may be some ulterior motives, however, basic Social Theory will inform you “…when has anyone known the exact thoughts of any individual”?
Furthermore, a dear friend of mine–a longtime spiritual practitioner and a student of Evolutionary Enlightenment, once said to me that it is very postmodern of us to downplay our positive accomplishments. We should be proud of this moment. We’ve let our voices be heard. Our politicians could not have seen this through if it were not for the fact that so many of us showed and participated with genuine concern and desire for H.C.R. Well done Americans, well done!
Ralph Waldo Emerson Quotes:
Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it requires courage.
For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.
